Many people are surprised to learn that the City of Chicago does not pay for either the initial construction of or the ongoing maintenance for its dog parks. This responsibility instead falls on the organizations like ours to raise all the funds ourselves. Average dog park construction costs are approximately $150k, and will vary based on final park design. No matter how you look at it, that is a very big number.

We are proud to have Friends of the Parks as our fiscal sponsor, which, among other benefits, allows us to collect donations that can be tax-deductible for the donor. We’ll supply you with a receipt that indicates the donation is for a 501(c)(3) organization (Friends of the Parks). Donations can be made either in the form of cash/credit/check or in goods or services that we can use for raffles or other fundraising activities.
